The Qatar Press Center signed a memorandum of understanding with the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies, with the aim of enhancing joint cooperation in exchanging expertise, providing opinions and consultations, organizing specialized training workshops, in addition to unifying efforts when participating in national events. This comes within the framework of the center's keenness to cooperate with various local civil and military authorities, and to advance journalistic and media culture in various fields. The memorandum was signed by His Excellency Brigadier General Dr. Rajih Mohammed Aqil Al Nabit, in his capacity as Acting President of the Academy, and Mr. Sadiq Mohammed Al Ammari, Director General of the Center. The agreement stipulates enhancing cooperation in the field of scientific research, defense, security, strategic studies, journalism and media, preparing and qualifying senior officers, journalists, media professionals and civilians, and promoting the culture of defending national security, in addition to holding conferences, seminars and joint specialized workshops related to academic defense, security, strategy, journalism and media, as well as reviewing academic programs, evaluating their quality and contributing to the process of continuous development. His Excellency Brigadier General Dr. Rajih Mohammed Aqil Al Nabit said: “We are pleased to sign this memorandum with the Qatar Press Center, which is an effective media edifice in enhancing the press and media scene in the State of Qatar, and advancing journalistic work.” He added: The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding comes within the framework of the Academy’s efforts to develop the skills of its members from various scientific aspects, prepare them to become distinguished military leaders, and provide them with the capabilities that enable them to participate in monitoring and understanding variables and preparing policies, strategies and plans that contribute to protecting national security. He said: This cooperation comes from our belief in the importance of building academic and research partnerships to create cooperative systems with maximum impact with national, regional and international academic institutions, including the Qatar Press Center, whose contributions and achievements we are proud of in order to achieve national goals. For his part, Mr. Sadiq Mohammed Al Ammari said: We are pleased to sign the memorandum of understanding with the Joaan bin Jassim Academy for Defense Studies, which reflects the importance of the center’s work and role in providing journalistic and media expertise, and its continuous efforts to prepare distinguished leaders with good knowledge and advanced skills in dealing with media issues. He added: The memorandum of understanding is an important step in the center’s work to expand the scope of our work in the field of theoretical and practical education and training in journalism and media to also include different segments that are not limited to journalists, media professionals and media workers, but also include students of the Military Academy. The Director General concluded by saying: “The areas of joint cooperation will include issuing research, preparing books and periodicals, and establishing a specialized scientific magazine that enriches the press and media library in the security and defense fields, in addition to conducting joint scientific research for faculty members and students in areas of interest to both sides.”
