The Mosques Administration Department at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has participated in judging the Little Muezzin Competition.
The event, organised by Al-Shorouk Kindergarten in Al Wakra, saw five kindergartens participating. The competition included two stages.
The first was through recording a short video clip of the call to prayer according to several controls set by the Mosques Administration Department. The administration chose the best four entries to qualify for the final public stage in front of the judging committee and the audience that included the parents of the participants.
The judging committee included Sheikh Ahmed Abdel Moneim and Sheikh Zaki Ba Habara, members of the Imams and Muezzins’ Examination Committee at Awqaf. The students were evaluated according to the beauty of the voice and the words of the call to prayer. Rashid Yousef al-Khulifi from Al-Rashad Kindergarten won first place while Ahmed Mohammed al-Najjar from Al-Wafa Kindergarten won second place. Ali Sultan al-Asiri from Kamal Naji Kindergarten won third place while Jabr Sultan al-Zawadi from Saud bin Abdul Rahman Kindergarten came in fourth place.
Al-Shorouk Kindergarten Administration honoured the winning students. Hamad Hassan al-Qahtani from Ali bin Abdullah Kindergarten, one of the students with special needs participating in the competition, was also honoured. Faiza Jumaa al-Hitmi from Al-Shorouk Kindergarten thanked Awqaf for its support of the competition.
