The Zakat Affairs Department at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs announced the provision of aid totaling QR 20,595,490 to benefit 742 families in need of assistance within the country in November.
In this context, Head of the Zakat Services Division Mohamed Jaber Al Baridi, stated that the Zakat Affairs Department is keen to deliver zakat funds to eligible families according to the legal expenditures and approved controls and regulations for assistance within Qatar at a rate of 100 percent.
Al Baridi stated that the assistance provided by the department is of two types: periodic assistance, which is assistance provided to families on a monthly basis to help them meet their needs for food, drink and housing, and lump-sum assistance, which is provided to families once according to need. All of this assistance is disbursed by the Zakat Affairs Department to eligible families registered with it within Qatar according to the legal controls, expenditures and approved mechanisms.
