Qatar, Dominican Republic to strengthen relations
Amir, Dominican Republic president hold talks
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani held an official talks session with President of the Dominican Republic Luis Rodolfo Abinader, at the Amiri Diwan Monday.
The two sides discussed ways to boost bilateral relations across various areas, especially in investment and economy. They also exchanged views on the key regional and international issues and developments of common concern.
The session was attended by HE Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Khulaifi, HE Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, HE Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi, HE Minister of Commerce and Industry Sheikh Faisal bin Thani al-Thani, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi, along with several senior officials.
On the Dominican side, it was attended by Minister of Finance Jose Manuel Vicente, Minister of Energy and Mines Joel Santos, Advisor to the President Jose Miguel Bonetti, along with several senior officials, members of the delegation accompanying the president.
Agreements signed
Qatar and the Dominican Republic signed Monday an agreement, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and a joint statement for co-operation, on the sidelines of the visit of President of the Dominican Republic Luis Rodolfo Abinader.
The two governments inked an agreement aimed at promoting and protecting their mutual investments, and the two countries' central banks signed an MoU.
The ministries of interior of the two nations signed a joint statement for co-operation across areas of security and combating crime.
The signing ceremony was attended by a number of the ministers and senior officials and the members of the official delegation accompanying President Abinader.
