Rajagiri Public School (RPS) commemorated Indian Constitution Day with a mock parliament session, a testament to the students’ understanding and appreciation of the country’s democratic framework.
The event, presided over by Speaker Amanur Rahman, commenced with a reading of the Preamble to the Indian Constitution by Shreya Sara Aju. Subsequently, a question hour and zero hour were conducted, allowing for discussions on various issues.
A highlight was the presentation of the Healthy Living and Value Promotion Bill by the minister of health, Adithi Vinod. The bill, which aimed to promote healthy lifestyles and ethical values among students, sparked lively debates among the members of the parliament. Following a thorough discussion, the bill was put to a vote and was ultimately passed by a majority.
The event concluded with the singing of the Indian national anthem. Principal Joshy Abraham expressed his pride in the students’ performance, commending their dedication and understanding of parliamentary procedures.
