A seminar entitled 'Qatar World Cup: The Exceptional Experience' was held on Monday, as part of the activities of the Riyadh International Book Fair within the cultural events accompanying the exhibition, which continues until October 5, 2024.
CEO of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Nasser Al Khater spoke during the seminar, moderated by Saudi media figure Abdulrahman Al Hamidi.
Al Khater said that the opening of the tournament was very special at Al Bayt Stadium, which symbolizes welcoming guests in the largest tent in the world.
He reviewed the most prominent features of the successful organizational and administrative experience of the State of Qatar in hosting the World Cup, and the interest in providing all the capabilities and requirements that help the public enjoy an exceptional experience in watching a football match, offering all services to fans of all categories and full support for people with special needs in the infrastructure and services provided. In addition, all stadiums and sports facilities are linked to the Qatari, Arab and Islamic heritage and culture and the local community and environment, such as: Al Thumama Stadium, Al Janoub Stadium, Al Bayt Stadium, and others.
The CEO of the World Cup praised the attendance of the Saudi fans who enriched the tournament.
He said that the organization of the tournament underwent several stages, starting with developing a clear and specific vision, structure and work plan, noting that work was done on economic, environmental and social sustainability through several initiatives.
