Rasha Abu-El-Ruz, a Qatar University (QU) faculty member and teaching assistant at the College of Health Sciences’s Biomedical Sciences Department, is among 40 high-achieving medical laboratory professionals named to the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) 2024 “40 Under Forty” list.

The honour is for those selected from more than 100,000 board-certified clinical pathologists and laboratory professionals from around the world who have made significant contributions to the profession and stand out as the future of laboratory leadership.

“ASCP’s ‘40 Under Forty’ programme is an opportunity to recognise the next generation of pathology and medical laboratory leaders from around the globe,” said ASCP president Robert Goulart.

“The award is an evidence of Rasha’s dedication towards the profession and our students,” said Dr Maha Asmakh, head of College of Health Sciences’s Biomedical Sciences Department.

“I am grateful for being selected for this high impact award; this is a great motivation to pursue my journey serving Qatar University and our students in the field of clinical laboratory sciences,” El-Ruz said.
