Two Pakistani soldiers and five militants were killed during a security operation carried out by Pakistani army forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Pakistani army said in a statement that their forces carried out a security operation based on intelligence information about the presence of gunmen in the city of Peshawar, where an exchange of fire took place between security forces and armed elements, resulting in the killing of two soldiers and five militants, and the injury of three other soldiers.
Pakistani forces have been working for years to eliminate armed groups in mountainous borders who launch attacks against security personnel and civilians from time to time.
