The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has reminded travellers to make use of the optional and free pre-registration service at Abu Samra port to get easy entry and exit procedures. The option is available for citizens, residents and visitors.

In a video, posted on X account yesterday, MoI said the pre-registration service for Abu Samra port in the Metrash2 is an optional service that enables citizens and residents to complete travel procedures through the port easily and conveniently through the lane designated for pre-registered vehicles. The rest of the lanes operate in their usual manner.

To complete pre-registration, citizens and residents can access the Metrash2 app and select ‘Travel Service’. They can fill in the required information and a text message will be delivered upon the completion of the proceedings. Visitors can complete the proceedings through the Hayya platform.

Travellers, who complete the pre-registration can head to the designated lane at Abu Samra. They will be asked to complete the procedures on the spot if the registration is incomplete. A team of trained General Authority of Customs officials are available to serve the travellers.
