The Group of the Ambassadors of Latin American and Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) held a meeting at the Diplomatic Club, underscoring the growing strategic value placed on the relationship with Qatar, a statement from the Embassy of Peru said.

Envoys from Peru, Panama, Dominican Republic, Haiti, El Salvador, Guyana, Ecuador, Argentina, Venezuela, Guatemala, Uruguay, Cuba, Brazil, and the charges d'affaires of Costa Rica, Mexico, and Paraguay attended the meeting.

Discussions focused on enhancing co-operation in various sectors, such as trade and investment and cultural exchange. Under trade and investment, they explored potential partnerships and investment opportunities in infrastructure, technology and sustainable development projects. In the realm of cultural exchange, the topics included promoting greater understanding and appreciation of both the GRULAC region and Qatar through educational, tourism, and cultural activates to be held in the upcoming months.

Ambassador of Peru, Jose Benzaquen Perea, representing GRULAC, emphasised the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and co-operation between GRULAC and a state that plays a significant issue in the international arena, the statement added.
