Having suffered a crucial loss to Al Arabi in their previous match of the Expo Stars League, Al Wakrah are looking to bounce back. Currently in fourth place with 37 points, and with Al Rayyan (38), Al Gharafa (41) and leader Al Sadd (43) ahead of them all having played 19 games each so far.
Al Wakrah meet Al Shamal in their postponed week 13 match at the Al Bayt Stadium on today at 6.30pm where both teams would go into the clash looking to overcome their loss in the previous round where Al Shamal lost to Qatar SC (1-2), and Al Wakrah went down to Al Arabi (2-4).
Al Wakrah coach Jose Murcia speaking ahead of the match, said, “The solution is to learn from our mistakes. In this situation, we must forget the previous result and prepare for the next match and one of the most important things is to be comfortable with the way we play.
“The Al Shamal team has been developing for the better continuously since it rose to the first division. This season they are progressing steadily and this may pose a danger to us. I believe that they are a team that is proficient and wants to take advantage of the opportunity to rise in the rankings and facing them will be tough.”
Al Shamal coach Poya Asbaghi, said, “In our last match against Al Wakrah, we showed a good level and we hope to repeat the positive things, especially since our goal is to win and get three points.”

Al Markhiya to face Al Gharafa
Meanwhile, Al Markhiya will be up against Al Gharafa in their postponed match at the Grand Hamad Stadium today at 8:30pm.
Al Markhiya are bottom-placed in twelfth in the rankings with 11 points.
They succeeded in registering their third win of the season in the previous round (Week 20) against Al Ahli 4-1 and are eager to wriggle out of the relegation spot.
In contrast, Al Gharafa are looking to make the top, currently being in second place with 41 points (from 12 wins, 5 draws and 2 defeats).
The Cheetahs were held to a 1-1 draw by Umm Salal in the last round.
Al Gharafa had won the first leg match against Al Markhiya 2-0 and would seek an encore.

Al Sadd to meet Al Ahli
Al Ahli will face Al Sadd in their postponed match of Week 13 at the Al Thumama Stadium on Wednesday at 8.30pm.
Al Ahli are determined to bounce back from their recent 1-4 defeat against Al Markhiya.
On the other hand, Al Sadd are aiming to redeem themselves after losing 1-3 to Al Duhail and maintain their position at the top of standings.
Al Ahli currently sit in ninth place with 20 points while leaders Al Sadd have 43 points.
In the other matches of the day, Umm Salal will clash with Al Arabi at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium at 6.30pm; Muaither will face Al Duhail at Grand Hamad Stadium at 6.30pm; and Qatar SC will play Al Rayyan at Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium at 8.30pm.
