The General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs Wednesday, distributed gifts to children at the prayer grounds.
This was part of Awqaf’s ‘Eid Joy’ initiative and as many as 4,500 children, who accompanied their parents to the prayer grounds in Doha and suburbs, received the gifts, a statement said. The initiative was held at 30 prayer grounds with support from the Endowment Bank for Family and Childhood.
The General Directorate of Endowments director general Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Thani said the gesture accomplished Awqaf’s slogan ‘Waqf is a community partnership’.
The Endowment Bank for Family and Childhood was established to implement initiatives aimed at strengthening family bonds while creating a healthy environment for children to grow up, supporting purposeful projects and beneficial programmes. Endowments can be made through Awqaf’s website, making donations through Awqaf’s bank account or by contacting the ministry or its hotline.
