The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) has announced a ban on temporary camping at Al Wakra beaches during weekends, official holidays, Eid holidays and mid-year school holidays to allow visitors more space and to curtail the renting out of portacabins by individuals, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
An official source told the daily that the MoECC, in co-operation with the Mechanical Equipment Department at the Ministry of Municipality has launched a campaign to remove more than 400 portacabins and caravans parked near Al Wakra beaches.
