The pavilion of the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs at Expo 2023 Doha recorded a total of 17,000 visitors from 94 countries.

According to a statement from Awqaf, the pavilion also received students from 83 schools while hosting a slew of activities throughout the Expo days.

The pavilion featured several awareness-raising panels that explained the importance of Islam regarding the environment and preserving it with all its components.

Awqaf’s pavilion and its activities witnessed the distribution of introductory books on Islam and awareness materials about the environment in Islam in Arabic and several other languages. A total of 14,302 booklets and brochures were distributed. The pavilion had screens to display videos dealing with the environment in Islam in Arabic and English along with a virtual reality show.

Also, Awqaf launched a page in Arabic with its Islam Web website, to promote environmental protection. The content on the social media platforms was viewed by 2,506,167 while the number of views of children’s posts about gardening reached 987,932.

Awqaf displayed 16 videos that deal with awareness of the environment in Islam. Also, the ministry was keen to educate Expo visitors about the value of the environment and its importance in Islam and provided nine illuminated panels at the visitors’ entrance to the International Zone. The activities were diversified to suit all sectors of the society. Also, various competitions were held in connection with the Expo and prizes were distributed to the winners.
