As part of the continuation of the activities of the 'Khair Homes' programme's fifth edition, Qatar Charity (QC) organised for the first time the 'Khair Homes' exhibition for the products of participating families, in co-operation with Katara - Cultural Village over two days.

The objectives were strengthening family relationships and spreading the culture of entrepreneurship and sustainability, and providing families with the opportunity to share their experience with society and market their products, a QC statement said.

The exhibition featured pavilions for various products, ranging from clothing, food, paintings, ceramics, and incense, in addition to organising artistic workshops for the patrons.

QC's Programmes and Community Development director Abdul Rahman al-Hajri, said the programme seeks to achieve several goals, the most important of which is encouraging families to support humanitarian work, consolidating the foundations of social solidarity and developing their skills in entrepreneurship and linking them to humanitarian work.

Katara's Events and Cultural Affairs Department director Khaled Abdel Rahim al-Sayed said hosting the exhibition comes within the framework of Katara’s social responsibility to promote and spread charitable and humanitarian work among all members of society, especially in Ramadan, the month of giving and solidarity, stressing their keenness to host various events, programmes and activities that supports charitable and volunteer work.

The participating families expressed their happiness with the programme and the exhibition, as they said that the idea of the exhibition was wonderful and provided the opportunity to market their products more widely. Wadha al-Nabit said she was keen to contribute recycled products, lauding the idea of the exhibition.

Umm Fahd al-Hajri pointed out that the idea of the programme is motivating for many family members, especially children, as it instils in them the value of giving. This was her debut as a participant and she is keen to participate in the coming years.

The programme's activities also included organising 'family evenings' for participating families, during which QC presented several workshops and activities for families and all age groups. The workshops aimed to motivate families and their guests to enter the world of entrepreneurship and to benefit from the tools at home and recycle them to invest time and develop skills.
