The Iftar tents and meal distribution points set up by the General Administration of Endowments (Awqaf) at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs continue to receive a large number of fasting persons.

According to a statement from Awqaf, the Iftar points at Al-Rayyan and Al-Aziziya distribute 2,400 meals a day. The supervisors of the two points start ahead of the call for Maghrib prayer.

The tents are at Ain Khaled (Thursday and Friday Market), Al-Sailiya (New Central Market), Industrial Area (Eid Musalla, Street 23 Al-Attiyah) Industrial Zone Street 38, Al-Rayyan (Eid Prayer Hall), Al Montazah, Umm Salal Mohamed, Al-Wakrah (opposite the old Al-Wakrah Market), Al-Khor (Othman Mosque), Bin Omran (Eid Prayer Hall), Al-Aziziyah (Eid Prayer Hall), Souq Al-Ali, Al-Sulaimi ( North Farms Area), Muraikh, next to Mosque No. (879) and Al Thumama.Meals distribution points are at Old Airport (behind Family Shopping Centre), Umm Ghuwailina (Council Cooperation Traffic Signals), Bin Mahmoud (Jaidah Bridge), Souq Al Faleh (near Al-Qubab Mosque) and Salwa Road (Azab Abu Nakhla Complex).

The General Administration of Endowments has set up points with facilities at Eid prayer grounds at Al-Rayyan and Al-Aziziyah to receive fasting people and distribute the meals easily taking into account security and safety requirements.

The administration has chosen the best restaurants to prepare meals. The Iftar tents are supervised by experienced officials.

The Iftar initiative is one of the humanitarian projects of the department that aims to strengthen community partnership and serve the segments of society during Ramadan to fulfil the conditions of the honourable donors and accomplish the slogan ‘endowment is a community partnership’ while assisting those fasting in Ramadan by feeding them. “The fasting persons are the guests at the tents,” the statement noted.

The administration receives contributions from donors and philanthropists to support Iftar tents. Benefactors can endow and contribute to Iftar tents and meal distribution through Awqaf.
