General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti on Tuesday inaugurated the Elite exhibition at Katara premises, building 13, in the presence of a host of fine artists and those interested in visual arts.
Organized by Qatar Fine Arts Association, the event will run until April 16 and showcases over 37 art works of Qatari and residents hailing from the pioneer, middle and the young generations who employ a variety of art schools in their masterpieces.
The showcased art works demonstrate the interplay between the art of drawing, portraiture, sculptures, and ceramics, reflecting the enrichment of the art scene in inspiring the nature, human and the heritage utilizing diverse tools to nurture the environment, cultures, and natural landscape, as well as diverse topics and techniques pursued by the participating artists.
President of Qatar Fine Arts Association artist Yusuf Al Sada said the exhibition constitutes a platform to share expertise and promote communication among the participants.
The exhibition shines a spotlight on the positive and bright image of the Qatari art movement, along with the experiences of pioneer artists and young people. it offers an opportunity for the public to taste the art and listen to the art works that the exhibition embraces, he said.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the fine artist Issa Al Mulla noted the multitude of the art orientations and schools participating in the exhibition, underscoring the significance of those schools in promoting interaction among the innovators and talented people, alongside those interested in art and visual art.
He affirmed that his participation in the event includes new art works in which he employed a variety of banknotes and coins with a new method.
For his part, the artist Hussein Al Nasiri told QNA he is participating with a painting inspired from his personal experience and forms combined with abstract, impressionistic and realist schools, reflecting a part of his escapades from plight to peace, in addition to highlighting his love for goodness, art and beauty.
A host of participants in the exhibition affirmed the tremendous role performed by Katara in strengthening the art and cultural movement in Qatar, noting the efforts of the association in supporting the artists and caring for them to share expertise through high-level exhibitions that spotlight the fine art in Qatar.
