The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Monday welcomed the adoption of a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire during the month of Ramadan.
In a statement, the OIC considered this an important step towards the international community assuming its responsibilities to stop the crime of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people for about six months.
The statement called for the need to compel Israel, the occupying power, to implement the resolution immediately and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid in a sufficient and safe manner to all parts of the Gaza Strip.
The OIC also renewed its call on the international community to put an end to all war crimes committed by the Israeli occupation, including settlement, killing, destruction, forced displacement, and genocide to which the Palestinian people are subjected in all occupied Palestinian territories.
