The Iftar tent in the Muraikh area has so far hosted 15,000 fasting people during Ramadan, a statement from the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has said. The tent is set up with the contribution in the name of benefactors, late Sheikh Nasser bin Saif bin Ahmed al-Thani and Sheikh Faleh bin Nasser al-Thani.

The tent in the Muraikh area is among 20 sites set up by Awqaf to break the fast. Mohamed bin Yaqoub al-Ali, assistant director general of the General Administration of Endowments, explained that the administration's aim this year is to provide Iftar for more than 24,000 fasting people daily in 20 sites across Qatar and five meal distribution points. He urged philanthropists and donors to contribute to supporting Iftar tents, to obtain rewards in the month of good deeds.

This year, Awqaf is reaching out to 700,000 through the Iftar tents and food distribution points. The tents are at Ain Khaled (Thursday and Friday Market), Al-Sailiya (New Central Market), Industrial Area (Eid Musalla, Street 23 Al-Attiyah), Industrial Zone Street 38, Al-Rayyan (Eid Prayer Hall), Al Montazah, Umm Salal Mohamed, Al-Wakrah (opposite the old Al-Wakrah Market), Al-Khor (Othman Mosque), Bin Omran (Eid Prayer Hall), Al-Aziziyah (Eid Prayer Hall), Souq Al-Ali, Al-Sulaimi (North Farms Area), Muraikh, next to Mosque No. (879) and Al Thumama.

Meals are distributed at Old Airport (behind Family Shopping Centre), Umm Ghuwailina (Council Co-operation Traffic Signals), Bin Mahmoud (Jaidah Bridge), Souq Al Faleh (near Al-Qubab Mosque) and Salwa Road (Azab Abu Nakhla Complex).
