The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (Amuaaq), an associate organisation of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), organised its traditional community Iftar at the Box Park in Old Doha Port.

Indian embassy first secretary Sachin Dinkar Shankpal was the chief guest and ICBF's former president Nilangshu Dey, the guest of honour. ICBF vice president Deepak Shetty, Bazm e Sadaf chairman Shahabuddin Ahmad, Jharkhand Association president Tanveer Ahmad and Maulana Niyaz Falahi, Janab Rahmatullah Asari Sahab and Shabbir Ahmad were special guests.

Ghazala Yasmeen conducted the Ramadan Quiz activity supported by other ladies. Children participated in Ramadan-themed card and lantern decorating activities. They were provided with goody bags.

Maulana Fayyaz Falahi spoke about the importance of the holy month of Ramadan and Zakat. He mentioned that Ramadan is a wonderful opportunity to repent for sins and wrongdoings. “We should take the momentum forward and work for the purity of soul and enhancement of Taqwa’’.

The programme was co-ordinated by Amuaaq officials M Faisal Naseem, Mamnoon Bangash, Dr Ashna Nusrat, Gazala Yasmin, Saima Rafat, M Farman Khan, Farrukh Farooqi, Dr Mohamed Nayeem, Abad Khan, Imaduddin Ahmad, Dr Imran Mumutaz, Dr Sufia and Dr Intekhab Alam.
