Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, is taking part in the 27th Dubai International Holy Qur’an Award competition. According to a statement from Awqaf, Qatar is represented by Hamad Abdallah Tais al-Jumaili, nominated by the Department of Da’wa and Guidance. He is participating in the category of memorising the Holy Qur’an in full with Tajweed.
The delegation participating in the competition is headed by Faraj Saleh Mohamed al-Otaibi. The competition is from Ramadan 1-14. The Qatari participants have so far achieved good positions in this major competition. Contestant Anas Hashim Mohamed al-Mashhadani secured 11th place while Abdul Aziz al-Hamri won fourth place.
