HE the Minister of Transport Jassim Saif Ahmed al-Sulaiti on Wednesday crowned the Qatar Airways (QA) team as champions of the third edition of the Minister of Transport’s Padel Championship Cup.
The QA team, according to a statement from the Ministry of Transport (MoT), defeated the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) team 2-0 in the final faceoff held in Padel-In Aspire Zone amid large fan attendance.
Apart from honouring the winners, HE the Transport Minister also appreciated the official sponsors Mwani Qatar and QTerminals and the gold sponsor Milaha.
The final match was attended by HE the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Dr Abdulla bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie, who is also the managing director and CEO of Qatar Rail, HE the director general of Qatar Aeronautical Academy Sheikh Jabor Bin Hamad al-Thani, Mwani Qatar’s CEO Capt. Abdulla Mohamed al-Khanji, Milaha Group CEO Fahad Saad al-Qahtani, Mowasalat (Karwa) acting CEO Ahmad Hassan al-Obaidly and several officials from MoT and transportation industry.
“We are pleased to have organised the Minister of Transport’s Ramadan Padel Championship Cup for the third year in a row, particularly as this tournament comes in response to staff desire at entities working in the transportation sector,” said the tournament manager Ali al-Emadi.
This year’s championship featured 37 teams from nine transportation entities: MoT, Mwani Qatar, QTerminals, Milaha, Qatar Airways, QCAA, Qatar Aeronautical Academy, Mowasalat (Karwa), and Qatar Rail.
