Qatar Charity launched its Ramadan campaign "Endless Giving” in Sudan by providing food baskets on the first and second days of the holy month of Ramadan to the displaced in shelters in Port Sudan.
Qatar Charity's teams began distributing food baskets in 11 shelter centres and continued their work on the second day of Ramadan by distributing Ramadan baskets to support the central kitchens in two shelter centres in Port Sudan.
Nader Abdul Karim, supervisor of the shelters in the Red Sea State, said that they were confused because there were needs for many important food items in the shelter centres for the displaced, but Qatar Charity intervened by providing Ramadan baskets at the appropriate time.
These projects come within Qatar Charity’s “"Endless Giving” campaign to help families affected by war, the families of orphans, the sponsored, and the neediest families in Sudan by contributing to provide them with the necessary materials in Ramadan for those fasting in Ramadan. Qatar Charity will continue to provide baskets food in the coming days and bringing joy to the families of orphans, the sponsored, and the neediest groups, as 3,900 baskets are scheduled to be distributed in the first phase to more than 23,000 beneficiaries.
Al-Moez Abdel Moneim, general supervisor of the two shelter centres, said, “We thank Qatar Charity for supporting the unified kitchen in which food is prepared at the shelter centre.”
Umm Muhammad, one of the displaced women, explained that providing the Ramadan basket had a positive and significant impact on the souls of the displaced people in the shelter centers. She praised the speedy delivery of baskets from charitable people in Qatar to the displaced in the camps, as the food supplies in the Ramadan baskets will be used to make Iftar for those fasting in the shelter centres.
