As part of its Ramadan campaign "Endless Giving", Qatar Charity has started implementing the “Feed the Fasting” project for the benefit of orphans and sponsored individuals of Syrian refugee families and the needy families in the Gaziantep province in southern Turkiye.
As many as 56,000 meals are expected to be distributed throughout the holy month of Ramadan across several provinces in collaboration with municipalities, including Sahinbey, Kilis, Uskudar, and Greater Shanliurfa.
The “Feed the Fasting” project coincides with a campaign launched by Qatar Charity aimed at sponsoring 5,000 new orphans under the slogan “Expand Your Family".
Yousuf bin Ahmed al-Hammadi, general supervisor of Qatar Charity's office in Turkiye, expressed his gratitude to the donors for their continuous contributions to the Ramadan campaign. He acknowledged that their generous support alleviates the suffering of crisis-affected people, the needy, orphans, and sponsored individuals worldwide.
Al-Hammadi added: "Every contribution made by the benevolent people in the State of Qatar makes positive impact worldwide, and we are confident that the generous people of Qatar will make more efforts to contribute to providing a dignified life for those in need."
Adam Ilik, director of Social Assistance Affairs at Shahinbey Municipality, stated that the municipality, in collaboration with Qatar Charity, provides Iftar meals to needy families every Ramadan. He thanked Qatar Charity for supporting the initiative.
Qatar Charity has a plan to distribute 31,500 ready-to-eat meals to internally displaced persons in the camps of northern Syria during Ramadan.
