Ramadan activities at the Culture Village Foundation -- Katara have started to attract more visitors to spend a good time there, as the various parts of Katara have been decorated in their best form for the holy month, with decorative lights illuminating the entrances and corridors of Katara.
Katara has also ensured a variety of activities, including art exhibitions, sports activities, and several competitions with monetary prizes for the winners. On Thursday, March 14, a number of exhibitions will open. These include "The Spirit of Arabic Calligraphy," "Mentioned in the Holy Quran," and "Mosques of the World in Postcards".
Further, Katara Ramadan Chess Championship 2024 will go on from March 14-23 at Building 15 in collaboration with the Qatar Chess Association. Among the competitions organised by Katara is the Best Image Competition for Katara Ramadan Activities, open to Qataris and residents, running through March 11-24. The following prizes have been allocated for the top three winners: QR12,000 for the first place; QR8,000 for the second place; and QR6,000 for the third place.
Besides, there's the Katara baskets initiative, running throughout the entire month of Ramadan in collaboration with Qatar Charity and the Qatari Farmers Forum. This initiative is part of Katara's "We Help and Support" campaign, aiming to distribute food baskets to meet the needs of underprivileged families during the holy month.
Meanwhile there are daily religious lessons and activities held after the Taraweeh prayers at Katara Mosque, which will also host the 13th edition of the Qur'an Memorisation Competition from March 11-25 for children born in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
The Katara Cannon Event, Suhoor, and the quizzes have greatly engaged and entertained the visitors, serving Katara's goal of reviving the Qatari folklore. In addition, a variety of products are showcased through the Handicrafts Market in the Creativity Square.
