The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) showcased student projects of the National Olympiad for Creativity in Mathematics, Science and Engineering 2024 competition, in cooperation with the College of Engineering at Qatar University (QU), Texas A&M University in Qatar, and the Qatar Scientific Club (QSC).
Assistant Undersecretary for Education Affairs at the MOEHE Maha Zayed Al Ruwaili praised the students' efforts in making their projects and their leading role in achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Director of the Educational Guidance Department at the MOEHE Maryam Noman Al Emadi said that the showcase is the outcome of their efforts and the product of their creativity during their journey in the competition.
This achievement represents a promising future for Qatar by focusing on supporting gifted students and fostering their talents, she added.
The National Olympiad for Creativity in Mathematics, Science and Engineering 2024 had a competitive turnout in its various fields. After evaluation, 50 teams from different educational levels of public and private schools were nominated to partake in the final stage of the competition. The final results will be announced on May 2.
The competition aims to encourage students to learn science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) in an integrated way, introduce and merge artificial intelligence (AI) and technology into the educational system at all levels, as well as develop students in specialized fields that support innovation and competitiveness.
The National Olympiad for Creativity in Mathematics, Science and Engineering targets students in the primary level (sixth grade), middle school and high school. Students submit their projects in accordance with the required standards and guidelines. The three main areas of projects are energy, robotics, smart devices and software systems. (QNA)
