Educational programmes and activities presented by the Horticulture Expo 2023 Doha contributed to providing school students with the knowledge of the different kinds of agriculture, enhancing their awareness of the importance of protecting the environment, its elements and components from damage and irrational use of natural resources, and introducing them to the concept of the environment and sustainable green growth.
The programmes are aimed at providing a positive impact on the students in a way that will remain with them throughout their life, both private and professional.
The benefits and cognitive outcomes of the educational programmes and activities were not only limited to students; visitors to the expo also learnt about what needs to be done regarding the environment.
Head of “A Flower Each Spring” programme, Dr Saif al-Hajri, told the Qatar News Agency (QNA) that the educational and environmental programmes were very beneficial for the students who have been engaged since the launch of the expo in October 2 last year.
He added that the countries participating in the expo provided practical experiences for students through their activities, allowing them to communicate directly with experts and stakeholders and learn about examples of modern methods of agriculture and food security solutions.
Dr al-Hajri added university students also benefited from such activities.
