Katara – the Cultural Village Foundation has invited photography enthusiasts to take part in its “Best Image” competition.
Organised as part of Katara’s Ramadan activities, the competition offers exciting prizes to winners of the competition, which is free and open to citizens and residents.
The first winner will receive QR12,000 while the second and third positions will receive QR 8,000 and 6,000, respectively.
Katara has published the competition’s conditions on its X account and said that only photos taken by professional cameras are accepted.
“Any photos taken with a mobile phone or any type of smart device will be rejected,” Katara said. “The participant is entitled to submit a maximum of six images in JPEG format, with a high quality of at least (3,000 x 3,000) pixels and a print quality of 30 dpi. Photos must be taken from inside Katara's activities during Ramadan 2024 from March 11-24.”
No additions or digital merging are allowed in the submitted image, only basic adjustments such as cropping the image, adjusting the tilt, colours, lighting, and sharpness of the image, in addition to the possibility of removing distractions.
Participating images must not contain any signature, logo, or frame and none of the EXIF image data must be changed.
Any images that are inappropriate or incompatible with the general morals, customs and traditions of Qatar will be disqualified.
The submitted images must not infringe the copyright, trademarks or any moral rights, privacy rights or intellectual property rights of any person or entity, with the participant bearing any consequence or claim that may result from his or her failure to comply with this condition.
The decision of the jury on all matters relating to the competition shall be final and binding on all participants.
The organiser of the competition has the right to use the partaking photos while retaining the moral right of the owner of the image.
The property rights of the winning photographs in the competition are transferred to the organiser.
The deadline for receiving the photos participating in the competition is March 24.
Photos should be exclusively uploaded through WeTransfer on [email protected] e-mail.
A copy of the ID card and mobile number must be attached when participating in the competition.
The participant must register for the competition to obtain a photography permit at the event.
