After the MotoGP Grand Prix of Qatar was named the Best GP of 2023, Amro al-Hamad, Executive Director of QMMF and CEO of Lusail International Circuit said it was ‘honour’ to receive the recognition.
The award considers every detail of each Grand Prix to decide who takes home the trophy each year, with the teams’ association (IRTA) voting across a number of categories to select the winner. The result is then ratified by the Grand Prix Commission. After a decisive vote in 2023, it’s the Qatar GP that came out on top.
“It is an honour to be acknowledged as the Best Grand Prix of 2023, and our team is dedicated to going beyond expectations to ensure an unforgettable experience for all,” said al-Hamad.
“The excitement is building once again at MotoGP Qatar Airways Grand Prix of Qatar 2024 as we are witnessing the epitome of motorsport excellence right here at Lusail International Circuit. We are looking forward to the upcoming races and wishing the best of luck to all teams and riders,” he added in a statement on Saturday.
Lusail International Circiut has the highest possible standards of safety paired with a layout that delivers incredible racing year after year, with some of the most memorable battles in recent history staged around its now-iconic layout. After the entire venue underwent full renovation before MotoGP returned in 2023, the overall level of the facility is now truly world leading. The 2023 Qatar GP also welcomed a record crowd for MotoGP at the venue as the new-look track was unveiled.
