The Community Police Department at the Ministry of Interior (MoI)on Wednesday organised an awareness lecture on the concept of community policing. The department director Brig Dr Ibrahim Mohamed al-Sameeh covered a number of topics at the event attended by members of the Airport Passports Department, Airport Security Department and Public Transportation Security Department.
The topics included the concept of community policing, the systems of community policing in Islamic civilisation, the strategy of the Community Police Department and its objectives and implementation requirements. The lecture emphasised on the role of community policing in serving the community, enhancing relationships with individuals and institutions and promoting a culture of crime prevention, reducing its spread and raising the level of public security and tranquility.
The lecture also reviewed the responsibilities of the Community Police Department, in addition to providing various tips and guidance on etiquette and skills for professional interaction with the public.
