The State of Qatar and the United States held a session on strategic communication, as part of the 6th Qatar-US Strategic Dialogue in Washington DC.

Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari chaired the Qatari side in the session, with the participation of Director of Media and Communication Department Ibrahim bin Sultan Al Hashmi, and Official Spokesperson Assistant Ahmed bin Saif Al Kuwari.

The US side was chaired by HE Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs Bill Russo, with the participation of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs Daniel Benaim, Spokesperson for the US Department of State Matthew Miller, and Deputy Spokesperson Nathaniel Tek.

During the session, the two sides discussed bilateral coordination and cooperation in the field of strategic communication and diplomatic media; training and exchange of experiences between teams working in the field of media and communication in the foreign ministries of the two countries to contribute to building capabilities in the field of diplomatic communication; and the importance of developing strategies to combat misinformation and misleading campaigns.
