The First Arab Forum for Digital Transformation kicked off in Istanbul on Sunday under the theme "Role and Importance of Digital Culture in Promoting Digital Transformation Policies: Opportunities and Challenges".

Organized by the Arab Administrative Development Organization (ARADO) of the Arab League, the three-day forum brings together undersecretaries of ministries and senior officials in charges of developing and implementing digital transformation initiatives from Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Palestine, Morocco, and Libya.

Addressing the opening session, ARADO Director-General Dr. Nasser Al Hatlan Al Qahtani said the forum aims at providing a dialogue platform for exchanging ideas and experiences, and promoting a common understanding on shaping the digital future in a world dominated by digital platforms, innovation and data capitalism, and generative artificial intelligence.

The event highlights the role of digital culture in driving comprehensive and sustainable digital transformation, the available opportunities, and challenges facing digital transformation and the way to overcome them using digital culture, Dr. Al Qahtani added.

The forum features ten themes focusing on exploring the available opportunities and challenges facing digital transformation and how to overcome them using digital culture; achieving a deeper understanding of the concept of digital identity and citizenship and their vital role in shaping and strengthening digital societies; developing strategies for marketing government digital services; the impact of digital culture on cybersecurity applications; and the role of technology transfer and localization in promoting digital sustainability.
