A delegation from the Sheikhdom of Montenegro has praised the activities of the Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Centre (Fanar).
Sheikh Omar Kayushai, deputy grand mufti and president of the Sheikhdom of Montenegro, hailed Fanar's effective role in introducing Islamic culture and Qatari heritage to the various communities residing in Qatar as well as visitors.
A statement from the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs said that the delegation was briefed about Fanar’s activities by its director Dr Saleh bin Ali al-Marri, who explained the most prominent programmes and activities offered by the centre to communities and visitors.
The delegation was also taken on a tour of the heritage and cultural halls to introduce them to a set of Islamic values and different designs of the Qur’an in addition to a virtual reality video that recounts the greatness of Islam and its establishment of an interconnected network of rights.
The deputy grand mufti and the delegation expressed their admiration for the initiatives and preaching methods of the centre to introduce Islam.
Fanar recently organised a number of activities that included a series of lectures on preparing for the afterlife.
The lecture was attended by a large audience of Malayalam speakers from the Indian community.
Dozens also attended the programme to visit the Grand Mosque and the Medina Mosque during the educational programmes for English and Russian speakers.
The Department of Islamic Culture also held three lectures for Malayalam speakers for workers, parents and housewives.
The Department of Introducing Islam organised programmes about Qatari life and culture for English and Russian speakers in the presence of about 66 participants.
