The Home, Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, in collaboration with the United Development Company (UDC), organised an event on the occasion of Qatar Environment Day on the Pearl Island.

The event adopted the slogan "Our Earth Our Legacy" aiming to enhance environmental conservation and community awareness for achieving sustainable development.

The event was attended by Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak al-Khalifa, president of Home, Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, and Ibrahim bin Jassim al-Othman Fakhro, CEO and board member of UDC. It included two workshops for painting on canvas bags to promote sustainability, and planting to enhance recycling.

Accordingly, the Home, Civil Service and Government Development Bureau published on its website a statement by al-Khalifa, saying: "On the Qatar Environment Day, we renew our commitment to the third National Development Strategy, which focuses on environmental sustainability in its outcomes. We continue our efforts to raise awareness in the community about the importance of enhancing environmental conservation to achieve sustainable development, in line with the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030."

Earlier, the Cabinet approved the participation of all government entities and ministries in celebrating the annual Qatari Environment Day on February 26, this year, under the slogan " Our Earth Our Legacy," aiming to draw attention to the importance of developing appropriate technologies for climate change, adopting clean energy, optimising water usage, improving air quality and increasing green spaces in a region with a desert climate and facing geographical changes and climate transitions similar to other regions worldwide.
