Greek ambassador to Qatar Ioannis Ioannidis has emphasised that the Greek-Qatari relations are long-term friendly relations, constantly evolving. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the ambassador said that the visit of Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to Doha and the discussions he will have with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will give a new impetus to bilateral relations and contribute to enhancing co-operation in various fields.
He added that the goal is to enhance direct investments in both countries, given the favourable environment in Greece and Qatar. He pointed out that current and future areas of co-operation include energy, digital economy, infrastructure, trade, and investments.
The ambassador said that Qatar and Greece share common interests and recognise the importance of the rules-based international system, firmly rooted in international law and respect for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of all states, and they are keen to support and promote anything that enhances stability in the region and beyond.
