The Embassy of Kuwait in Doha marked Wednesday the 63rd anniversary of Kuwait's Independence Day and the 33rd anniversary of the Liberation Day in the presence of a number of dignitaries, including diplomats, ministers and other guests from various walks of life.
Kuwaiti ambassador Khalid Badr al-Mutairi thanked the participants at the celebration for their sincere efforts to promote freindly relations with Kuwait and share the Kuwaitis joy. The dignitaries included HE the Chairman of the Qatar Shura Council Hassan bin Abdulla al-Ghanim, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, HE the Minister of Trade and Industry Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Qassim al-Thani, HE the Minister of Justice Ibrahim bin Ali al-Mohannadi, HE the Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohamed bin Ali al-Mannai, HE the Minister of Municipality Abdulla bin Hamad bin Abdulla al-Attiyah, HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi, HE the Minister of State and president of Qatar National Library Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kawari and Ministry of Foreign Affairs Department of Protocol director ambassador Ibrahim Fakhro.
Ambassador al-Mutairi stressed the deeply rooted and very special friendly relations between Qatar and Kuwait on all levels and in all fields both on the popular level among the two peoples and the top leader leadership. He pointed out that both countries have adopted a bright future prospective and work towards a united aim to attain integration and cooperation in all fields. He said that the visit of the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber al-Sabah on Tuesday to Qatar further established the already deeply rooted excellent relations between the two countries.
The Kuwaiti ambassador also recalled the honourable role by the Qatari brothers during the liberation of Kuwait back in 1991 to restore the just right of the nation. He said that Kuwait has gone through various tough challenges before and after its independence and with endurance and diligence of the forefathers, the nation achieved prosperity and the peace it enjoys today under its wise leadership. He noted that Kuwait has always worked towards promoting and maintaining world peace and stability in addition to the establishment of the rule of international law.
Eventually, the Kuwaiti envoy stressed the Qatari successes and achievements in various fields, in particular Qatar becoming a landmark in world sports diplomacy by organising prestigious international events in Doha.
He further congratulated Qatar on winning for the second time the AFC Asian Cup and success of organising the ongoing the Expo 2023 Doha.
