Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi confirmed that the GCC countries are keen to ensure the stability of global oil markets through cooperation with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
During his meeting with Secretary General of OPEC Haitham Al Ghais, the Secretary General praised the great efforts made by the OPEC, and its important and vital role in maintaining the stability and balance of oil markets and facing their future challenges, in coordination with member states.
Ways of enhancing cooperation between the GCC and OPEC were discussed during the meeting in several areas, most notably the permanent and ongoing coordination of oil policies between the Cooperation Council and the Organization, to ensure safe and stable energy supplies, especially in light of the rapid regional and international developments and circumstances that have affected global energy markets.
