A delegation from the Shura Council, headed by HE Chairman of the Qatari-Turkish Parliamentary Friendship Group Eng. Ahmed bin Hitmi al-Hitmi, met with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye Prof Numan Kurtulmus.
At the beginning of the meeting, HE the Speaker of the Turkish parliament praised the depth of the fraternal relations between his country and Qatar, emphasizing the importance of exchanging parliamentary visits to enhance coordination and co-operation between the two sides. For its part, the Shura Council delegation stressed the necessity of increasing coordination between the two councils and unifying their positions on various issues to serve the interests of both countries and their fraternal peoples. During the meeting, they reviewed the existing co-operation between the Shura Council and the Turkish parliament, along with ways to enhance and develop it, in addition to discussing several topics and issues of mutual interest. Furthermore, the Shura Council delegation met with Chairman of the Qatari-Turkish Friendship Group in the Turkish Parliament Hulusi Akar, where they discussed ways to strengthen parliamentary relations and the prospects for mutual co-operation and co-ordination between the two sides.
