Indonesians cast their votes on Wednesday for the 2024 General Elections to choose a successor to the current President Joko Widodo, who was first elected in 2014 and is ineligible to run for a third term.

Indonesia is holding the 2024 General Elections with around 204.8 million voters expected to participate, according to the Indonesian news agency (ANTARA).

During the elections, Indonesians vote for a president and a vice president as well as members of the House of Representatives (DPR), Regional Representatives Council (DPD), and Regional Legislative Councils (DPRD) at the provincial, city, and district levels.

The candidates are Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto, 72, former Jakarta governor Anies Baswedan, 54, and former Central Java governor Ganjar Pranowo. (QNA)
