Souq Waqif management launched Saturday the 15th edition of Souq Waqif International Honey Exhibition at the eastern sqaure of the souq and it will remain open for the public daily until February 19.
The working hours of the exhibition are from 9 am until 12 noon, and 3:30 pm until 9 pm, except on Friday, as the exhibition will be open from 3:30 pm until 9 pm. This edition of the festival enjoys a wider participation from various countries that include Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Libya, Spain, New Zealand, and Qatar among others. The participating companies amount to 100 local and international companies specialised in natural honey and related products, and these include around 55 Qatari companies.
Khalid Saif al-Suwaidi, general supervisor of the exhibition, pointed out that this exhibition is considered the largest and most significant exhibition specialised in honey in the country, and more than 23 different countries from around the world are taking part at its activities. Besides, a new clinic was introduced to this edition where bee venom therapy is used, which is a kind of apitherapy. Further, the specialised laboratory to qualify and assess the quality of honey and analyse its components will continue to provide its services for the third year on row.
He said that the exhibition is strategically located at one of the most tourist attractions in the country, which made many companies keen to participate. Meanwhile, products are offered to customers at competitive prices, where retailers and customers can freely deicide on these.
Aziz Lakhdari from Algeria who displays New Zeeland Manuka honey, stressed that this exhibition is considered one of the best worldwide in its category as he have already taken part at 16 different international exhibitions for honey products. He also expected that sales will be excellent during the last few days of the exhibition as some customers prefer to wait until the conclusion of the event to get better deals.
Thamir al-Saadi, participant from Saudi Arabia, pointed out that the organization of the exhibition is more than excellent with easy and flexible procedures by the organizers to provide the participants with hassle-free services. He stressed that the start of the event is very promising of good business to come over the coming days. He said that his products include special blends that help enhance health and vitality.
Ali Hazza, Yemeni participants, said that the exhibition enjoys a good reputation among those in the industry and he was very keen to bring his best and most fine products to Doha as he believes that customers would certainly enjoy a good taste for the fine products. He noted that this exhibition is considered the best among the ones he has taken part in and expects excellent sales in the coming days.
