The Prime Minister of Lebanon's Caretaker Government, Najib Mikati met Saturday with Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian who is visiting Lebanon.

Mikati stressed, during the meeting, the importance of making further efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that the situation in the region is convoluted and it is imperative to press for ceasefire, according to a statement of the Lebanese government.

For his part, Amir-Abdollahian emphasized the importance of consolidating all efforts to cease the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and reach just solutions for the entire region, the statement read.
