Preparations are going on across Qatar to mark the National Sport Day on Tuesday, with special focus on engaging various categories of residents, regardless of age and background. Many government and private entities including schools and companies have prepared special events to gather their affiliates in lively and entertaining activities, mostly at the open air areas, in particular at the public gardens and parks. Qatar's beaches are expected to receive huge influx of visitors to enjoy the fresh air, waves and beautiful scenery.
The first-ever National Sport Day in Qatar was declared in 2012, to stress the importance of promoting a healthy lifestyle and encouraging everyone to embrace sport activities as way to improve their life.
The Aspire Zone Foundation has announced the details of its activities for the National Sport Day (NSD), which will include more than 20 diverse sporting events on its open fields in Aspire Park.
The foundation said that fans of sports and activity in the early morning can benefit from walking in Aspire Park, which receives visitors around the clock, as they can participate in various activities starting at eight in the morning until noon, while the area remains open for those wishing to enjoying sports for an extended period of time.
Pitch No. 10 in Aspire Park will host several events, including: 3X3 basketball, football, the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum events, martial arts, Strongest Man in Qatar, Fitness for All race and other activities for children, while pitch No. 11 will also host diverse activities including racing, running with the ball, tic-tac-toe, penalty shoot-outs, vertical jumping, horizontal jumping, speed and obstacle racing, rope jumping, and shooting accuracy.
Additionally, Football Performance & Science Department at Aspire is organizing a 12-team closed football tournament for the minor categories of local clubs on the Aspire Academy outdoor pitches No. 8 and 9.
Aspetar Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital will also participate in the NSD celebration through a series of distinguished events aimed at promoting the practice of sports and providing a safe environment for the community. Free medical services are provided for visitors, such as medical examinations including biometric examination, blood sugar, body mass, as well as heart rate. Visitors to the Aspetar booth will also be able to obtain awareness and educational consultations, in which health and nutrition advice are provided on how to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
