The US military targeted 85 military sites in seven locations in Iraq and Syria through precise airstrikes.
The US Central Command, via its social media platform, revealed that these airstrikes were carried out using more than 125 precision munitions. It clarified that the targets included command and control centers, intelligence facilities, as well as missile and drone storage facilities belonging to armed factions that facilitated attacks on US and coalition forces in Iraq (3 locations) and Syria (4 locations).
In a related context, US President Joe Biden stated that he has ordered military strikes on facilities in Iraq and Syria affiliated with factions that attacked US forces. He added that the response will continue at times and places determined by Washington. (QNA)
