The Sealine and Khor Al Udaid areas are witnessing a considerable influx of visitors and tourists over the past few weeks to enjoy the good weather and the picturesque views.
Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported that a number of tourist company operators stressed that the demand for tours in the areas have risen by almost 500% as the fans for the ongoing AFC Asian Cup started to arrive in the country.
The tourists are from different places around the world with large numbers from the GCC region, Iraq, Iran and China, in addition to other fans from Central Asia. Tourists in particular enjoy camel riding, hiking the sand dunes, dune bashing in SUVs and quad bikes. Some even prefer to stay overnight in desert camps with all the accompanying activities and programmes.
Saif Ali, from Iraq, said this is his first time in Qatar and it has surprised him with the diversity in the tourist sector. He was keen to visit all the key sites of the country and was especially attracted by the idea of a safari trip to the Sealine and Khor Al Udaid areas, which he considered as a unique experience.
Ahmed Rafaa, another tourist, stressed that he highly enjoyed the scenery and the overall atmosphere at the Sealine Area. Even though he spent in Qatar only nine days, he was able to see many things that impressed and entertained him and made him wish to come back again.
Mohamed Laith said there are specialised tourist companies in Qatar that organise safari trips, with skillful guides and drivers. This gave him and his friend a real sense of the joy of adventure. He noted that Qatar has made great and excellent preparations to receive the fans and teams of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
Abdulla al-Hayali said Qatar has succeeded in giving the football fans a unique experience with such a high level preparations and organisation.
