The South Korean military announced that North Korea fired several cruise missiles off its western coast, just two days after it test-fired cruise missiles from a submarine off its eastern coast.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff of the South Korean Army said, in a statement broadcast by Yonhap news agency, that it had detected North Korea launching cruise missiles from its west coast at around 7 am (local time), without specifying their number.
"While strengthening our monitoring and vigilance, our military has been closely coordinating with the United States to monitor additional signs of North Korea's provocations", the statement added.
This marks the third cruise missile launch carried out by North Korea within a week.
