Wathnan Racing-owned Zakadir with Soufiane Saadi in the saddle registered a comfortable victory to secure the Al Judhay Cup in style at Al Uqda Racecourse on Thursday.
The Alban de Mieulle-trained horse after a slick run recorded a two-length win as Djedahess under Stephane Ladjadj finishing the 2100m Purebred Arabian Premium Maiden in runner-up position. Al Mustafiz, ridden by Saleh Salem al-Marri, finished third in the feature.
Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) Racing Manager, Abdulla Rashid al-Kubaisi crowned the winners.
Also on Thursday, Ladjadj rode Bolt Action to Thoroughbred Handicap victory while Ivan Rossi guided Greer to Thoroughbred Handicap title during QREC’s 14 Al Uqda Meeting that saw a total of seven races.
