His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani patronised the graduation ceremony of the 11th batch of cadets of Al Zaeem Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Air Academy at Al Udeid Air Base Tuesday.
President of the Federal Republic of Somalia Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attended the ceremony along with a number of Sheikhs and Ministers.
The ceremony was also attended by a number of leaders of security, military and university colleges, institutes and academies, high-ranking officials of sisterly and friendly countries, senior officers of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Interior, the Amiri Guard and the State Security, in addition to heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the country, guardians of the graduates, and guests.
The national anthem was played at the beginning of the ceremony. Then the commander of the graduates' queue came forward requestingHis Highness the Amir to inspect the queue of the 116 graduates from Qatar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Federal Republic of Somalia.
After reciting verses from the Holy Quran and the march of the graduates' queue and the military parade,His Highness the Amir honoured the 12 outstanding graduates. After that, the flag was handed over from the 11th batch to the 12th batch, the appointment order was read out and the parade queue left.
The air show began with a number of trainer aircraft belonging to Al Zaeem Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Air Academy, including PC-21, Super Mushshak trainers, and H-125 helicopters. The Amiri Air Force participated in the air show with F-15, Rafale and Typhoon, along with transport aircraft C-17 and C-130, and the Apache, NH-90 Agusta helicopters.
At the end of the ceremony, officers of the 11th batch took the oath and recited the academy anthem.
