Qatar University's Academic Planning and Quality Assurance Office organised its third forum which provides a collaborative space for the discussion of artificial intelligence integration in higher education quality assurance.
QU's Vice-President for Academic Affairs, Dr Ibrahim al-Kaabi, said in his opening statement, "Today, we gather to reaffirm our ongoing commitment and continuous efforts to achieve Qatar University's mission of qualitative excellence in various fields and the delivery of high-quality academic programmes."
He added: "Through the previous editions of this forum, our work aimed to solidify the central value of quality culture and excellence within the Qatar University community. We aimed to increase awareness of the importance of the learning outcomes assessment process at the level of academic programmes, and to establish connections between the outcomes of education and continuous development and improvement in programmes and academic practices. We also sought to familiarise participants with the learning outcomes system adopted at Qatar University and to understand all its aspects."
Dr al-Kaabi emphasised QU's keenness to consider the opinions and suggestions of attendees regarding the quality and evaluation of programmes. This reflects the university's belief in the importance of collaboration and concerted efforts to achieve goals that serve the nation.
He pointed out that this forum provides a unique annual opportunity for dialogue, communication, and openness to new perspectives on quality assurance in academic programmes at the university. The forum is also seen as a platform for exchanging experiences and opportunities for improvement and development to ensure the quality of learning in academic programmes.
The Academic Planning & Quality Assurance Forum provides a balanced mix of presentations, interactive sessions (Q&A and panel discussion), and opportunities for networking and informal discussions. It covers various aspects of Artificial Intelligence Integration in Higher Education Quality Assurance, Programme Learning Outcomes Assessment, and Academic Programme Review to provide valuable insights to the attendees.
