The Palestinian Presidency affirmed that it is time for the United States to recognize the State of Palestine, not just talk about a two-state solution.
In a press statement, the spokesperson for the Palestinian Presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that "the Israeli government is not interested in peace and stability, continuing to refuse to acknowledge the reality that peace will not be achieved without the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the 1967 borders."
He pointed out that "the resolutions of the UN Security Council, the UN General Assembly, and international consensus have granted Palestine the status of an observer state in the United Nations. The flag of Palestine has been raised alongside those of other nations that have recognized it."
"The Palestinian people will not compromise their legitimate rights, including Jerusalem and its holy sites, and their right to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, no matter how much time passes," Abu Rudeineh affirmed.
The Israeli occupation continues its intense and unprecedented aggression on the Gaza Strip for the 106th consecutive day, leaving tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women, while thousands of martyrs and wounded are still under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and civil defense crews cannot reach them. Additionally, wide areas of the Strip have been destroyed, leading to the displacement of 90 percent of the people there.
