The Nomas Center of the Ministry of Culture concluded its three-day Wild Camp in the Labsair - Al Shahaniya area.
Targeting youth aged 8 to 14, the camp aimed at instilling values and enhance national identity by utilizing the leisure time of children in engaging in various activities related to Qatar's authentic heritage, customs, and traditions.
Through Qatari trainers, the camp focused on teaching participants council etiquette, falconry, archery, Qatari traditional dance, camel riding, cooking, preparation of Arabic coffee, building traditional tents, and more.
Director of the Nomas Center Ghanem Abdulrahman Al Kuwari said that the first edition of the Nomas Wild Camp, which started last Thursday, saw the participation of young children who stayed in the camp during the weekend and learned traditional hobbies, among others.
The camp's program included a variety of activities allowing participants to familiarize themselves with the Qatari environment, traditional games, poetry and stories, hunting with traps, learning traditional knotting as well as archery and others, he noted.
Al Kuwari added that Nomas Center is organizing 12 similar camps this year, where a variety of theoretical and practical workshops will be offered.
